Deadline to apply: February 17th; however, applicants are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Program Site: This program takes place in Sevilla, Spain (Sevilla, España)
Duration: Second summer session: 2 weeks in Austin, 3 weeks in Spain.
-Class will start in Austin on July 8, 2010.
-Class will depart for Spain on Friday, July 23rd. Arrival in Madrid, Spain on Saturday July 24th and train to Sevilla. Arrival in Sevilla in the afternoon of July 24th.
-Last day of program: Saturday, August 14, 2010.
Description: Immerse yourself in the rich mosaic of cultures that is Andalusia (southern Spain) and improve your Spanish on a daily basis. You will study Spanish and Spanish Conversation in an intensive Spanish language program that has you practicing your Spanish in one of Spain’s most famous and vibrant cities: Seville.
Course and Credit: Spanish II/SPAN 1512 and Spanish Conversation/SPAN 1300. 8 ACC Credits.
Accommodations: Participants will share rooms in student housing. The residences will have internet, air-conditioning, dining room, laundry facilities, leisure area, outdoor recreation area, 24 hour reception, security staff.
Eligibility: By the end of the spring semester of 2010, students must have completed a first semester college Spanish course of at least four semester hours with a grade of C or better, or have equivalent credit by examination.
Program Fee: $1975. Includes accommodations,daily breakfasts & lunches, airport pick-up/drop-off, host institution facility fee, local coordinator services, guided tour of Sevilla, on-site orientation, Granada excursionand general fee (covers some instructor expenses).
Does not include tuition, airfare, books , meals, and personal expenses.
Scholarships: Funding is available through the Campus Activity Board and the Board of Trustees Study Abroad Scholarship program.
