- An outstanding contribution to achieving the goals and targets established in Closing the Gaps
- At least two years of successful outcomes, with benchmarks that allow progress to be monitored and evaluated.
- A history of excellence in academic instruction, student support services or partnerships (with other institutions, the business community, or the public community) that clearly contribute to achieving the goals and targets established in Closing the Gaps.
Semi-Finalist, Excelencia in Education 2006
Launched in 2005, the Examples of Excelencia initiative is designed to help increase the higher education achievement levels of the Latino population. The initiative identifies and honors programs and departments at the forefront of increasing academic opportunities and improving achievement for Latino students at the Associate, Baccalaureate and Graduate levels.
