College Connection
College Connection: Just Four Steps, and You're In!
College Connection Application

After just four simple steps, a high school senior can be ready to register for college. These steps are completed on the high school campus during the high school day so you never have to come to an ACC campus:

  1. Admissions: Do your application on-line with ACC staff members to guide you through. Complete a residency form to determine tuition costs for your area, and give your high school transcripts to ACC after you graduate from high school.
  2. Financial Aid: Fill out the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Use your previous year's W-2s and tax returns to fill out next year's FAFSA and ACC's financial aid form. ACC's financial aid staff will walk you through the necessary forms, even helping with forms from other institutions.
  3. Assessment: Take the COMPASS or ASSET test during school hours! You don't have to travel to campus or pay $29 to test. These scores will help determine your college readiness and course placement, but you may not have to test at all if your SAT, ACT, or TAKS scores show that you are college ready.
  4. Advising: Talk to an ACC advisor to learn what classes to take: basics, core classes, a degree plan, and more. Even if you are planning to go to another college or university, your College Connection advisor can help you make important decisions about your future.
