Dr. Thomas K. Walls, author of The Japanese Texans (published by The Institute for Texan Cultures) will write the first chapter on the Japanese Americans in Texas, as well as the part of the World War II chapter.

Dr. Arthur Sakamoto is a professor of sociology at UT Austin and an expert on Asian Pacific American demographics and sociology. He will write a sociological and demographic analysis of Asian Texas (final chapter).

Thao Ha is a graduate student in the department of sociology at UT Austin. She is perhaps the top academic researcher on the history of Vietnamese in Texas. Having grown up in Houston, Texas, she has witnessed a great deal of that history herself. She has published journal articles on Vietnamese Americans. She will write the Vietnamese Texans chapter.

Anna L. Fahy wrote her University of Texas at El Paso master thesis on the history and community development of El Paso Chinatown. She teaches at both UTEP and El Paso Community College, and she will contribute short biographies of Pasoans Herlinda Wong Chew and Ben Mar.

Naoko Kato is a graduate student in Library Sciences at UT Austin. She will work on archiving, cataloguing, and collecting materials for the Asian Texans History Project. She also will write the chapter on the post-War Japanese Texans.

Rebecca Teng and Yvonne Lim are both young writers and researchers who represent the youngest generations of the oldest Chinese families in Dallas and San Antonio, respectively. Lim will be in charge of Chapter Four, on the cohesive San Antonio Chinese American community, as well as part of the World War II chapter. Teng will write a section of the post-war Chinese Texans chapter on the Chinese Americans of Dallas.
