 Help From Your Classmates

If you have trouble with any assigned problems or math concepts, or if you cannot match an answer for an assigned problem, you may ask your classmates in your course by starting a new thread in the appropriate section of the Discussion Board in MyMathLab. Please help each other by posting your questions and answering the questions of your classmates. Your classmates may have different ideas about how to solve a given problem. Please share these ideas. It has been shown that the more you explain math to others, the better you will understand it. If the math problem you are asking about is online, you will have to enter the problem into the new discussion thread that you begin. If the problem is from your book (online or printed), you may state the problem number, section number, and page number, if possible, or just enter the problem into the thread. By helping each other, you will be helping yourself understand the math concepts.

 Help From Your Instructor

If you have any questions about the class or its course materials, please contact your instructor. If you would like help from your instructor, you may send a message in an email or leave a voicemail message with your name, phone number, and course, and she will get back to you soon. If you are working online homework or reviewing an online quiz, or if you do not understand a problem or think your answer may be right but was marked wrong by the computer program, while you are on the page with that problem, click on Ask Your Instructor. This will allow you to send a message to your instructor with a link to the problem so that she may review it and get back with you. You may also visit her or telephone her at her office during her posted office hours. Please be aware that if she does not answer the telephone during her office hours, then she is probably working with another student and if you leave a message, she will get back with you soon. In addition to this, you may make an appointment to meet with your instructor outside of her regularly scheduled office hours. She will gladly help you however she can. For more information about how to contact your instructor, please visit Janet Bickham's Contact Information web site. During each semester, her office hours are posted at this web page.

Help From Free Learning Labs (Tutoring Centers) at ACC's Campuses

ACC has Learning Labs (Tutoring Centers) at the following campuses: Cypress Creek, Eastview, Northridge, Pinnacle, Rio Grande, Riverside, Round Rock, and South Austin. The Learning Labs provide free tutoring for ACC students. Most, if not all, of these Learning Labs also have computers available for students to use. You should be able to use the MyMathLab computer program on the computers in the Learning Labs. The tutors in the labs may not be able to answer questions about the computer software, but they may certainly answer your questions about the math concepts covered in the software. And they will gladly help you with your homework. For more information about ACC's Learning Labs, please visit their web site at http://www.austincc.edu/tutor/.
