Objective
Create a drawing using:
1 point perspective
chirascuro / value
distortion / exaggeration of scale / proportion
From an observable interior
scene ( the classroom or the hall ) draw in correct proportion the room as well
as the furnishings in one (or two) point perspective.
Include in the drawing an object of known small size ( hand size preferably
) that now appears to be greatly enlarged in scale - room size instead of something
that could " normally " fit in your hand. Refer to the work of Claus
Oldenberg, American Pop Artist for ideas.
The drawing should use chirascuro as much as possible so that the objects are
created by the use of value - not line . Refer to old masters as models for
your work.
Materials
Mixed media - pencil , conte
High quality paper ( arches, BFK, bristol board) will give you better results
than sketch pad paper and is highly recommended.
Procedure
Do at least three thumbnail sketches of different "scenes" before
starting the final drawing.
There will be two class periods allowed for this drawing.
