Thinking
about taking a hybrid course?
A
hybrid course is one that meets 50% of the time in a classroom and
50% online or uses any other technique to facilitate learning. In
my hybrid classes, you must attend 1 hour 15 minute in-class
sessions, and the remaining reading improvement practice will be
completed through internet readings and responses, publisher software
sites, and authentic sources of print for you to read and respond
to using email or Blackboard's "Discussion Board" feature.
You must turn in assignments according to a deadline system and
tests are sometimes given in the testing centers, Round Rock campus.
I
will teach you how to do all this-it's not hard! It helps if you
can email, with an appropriate email address title, use attachments
with email and be familiar with search engines on the internet.
I can meet with you one-on-one to show you how to do all this in
our learning lab if you need more instruction than what I provide
in class.
Click on the alligator to watch a 'movie' about signing on to Blackboard.
"Blackboard" refers to ACC's private online system available
for any professor who wants students to use it. Again, I will show
you how to do this in class, but it always helps to watch this video
before you decide if you are mature and motivated enough to sign
up for a hybrid course.
