John D. McCoy, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Real Estate
Professor McCoy graduated from Southern Illinois University with a
BA in History/Asian Studies in 1965.  He then served 20 years in the United
States Air Force retiring at Bergstrom Air Force Base at Austin in 1985.
Professor McCoy became a Texas Real Estate Sales Licensee in 1983.
 He was recruited out of the ACC class by his instructor, Professor
W.A. "DOC" Ruhmann brokerage to sell "Acreage, Farm, and Ranch Land."
In 1986 he became a Texas Real Estate Broker and created his own 
brokerage in that specialty.
In 1989 Professor McCoy joined Keller Williams Realty( KWR) where he
worked until 1995.  He taught in the KWR new agent training program.
McCoy Realty was started in 1995 where Professor McCoy supervised
eleven licensees at one time.  Today it is a single agent realty.
Professor McCoy started teaching at ACC in the Continuing Education
program in 1993 and later taught in ACC's College Credit Real Estate Program.
He has the professional designation CERTIFIED REAL ESTATE INSTRUCTOR
(CREI)  which he earned in 1997 from the Texas Real Estate Teacher's
Association.  According to the Texas Real Estate Commission, a CREI qualifies
the holder to teach any and all real estate core real estate courses.
Professor McCoy holds an Associate Degree in Real Estate from ACC.
