To satisfy the reguirements for online orientation, go to Blackboard, log in, find the orientation test and drop an email at my ACC email address (joconne@austincc.edu) with the answers. Also, leave a note to the rest of the class on the discussion board.

Making Shapely Fiction (any edition) by Jerome Stern

You will write three short stories in the class, complete a series of writing exercises, read up on a "fiction mentor" and her/his stories, and turn in a portfolio at the end of the semester that includes revision work.
