I'm working on a
series of mystery novels about Arturo B. "Abe" Lincoln, a half-black,
half-Hispanic newspaper reporter. The first book, "Dreadful Selfish
Crime," named for the Robert Earl Keen song, involves political corruption
in small-town Texas. It was an award-winner at the Craft of Writing Conference
held at the University of North Texas by the Greater Dallas Writers
Association.
I'm at work on the second book, "Dead Crickets," which moves Abe to South Austin where the prostitutes and bubbas keep him busy.
