To satisfy the reguirements for online orientation, go here, look around Blackboard, take the brief orientation quiz and drop an email at my ACC email address (joconne@austincc.edu) with your quiz answers. Also, leave a note to the rest of the class on the discussion board. NOTE: BLACKBOARD WILL BE OPEN TO YOU A FEW DAYS BEFORE THE START OF CLASSES.

The course focuses on writing about and understanding the elements of short stories: Central idea, character, conflict, language, point of view and tone. To get an idea of what is expected, take a look at the ACC course master syllabus
