This is the semester for faculty evaluation. Distance students may now participate in the online evaluation available on November 11th until the end of the semester via Student Online Services. The evaluations are anonymous and I do not receive the results until the semester is over and I have turned in my grades.

I am not aware of any process for student evaluation for the support services for this course. Please keep in mind that you are only evaluating me as your instructor. All comments regarding support for this class should be sent to the Department Chair, Mary Kohls, kohls@austincc.edu.
Programming takes training to be successful. There are tools to use to assist you. Short cuts seldom work. Often beginning students become discouraged because of the difficulty in learning the skill. However, success means applying the tools that help you find the error(s). Sometimes students exhibit learned helplessness. Learned helplessness means that you think there is nothing that you can do to resolve the situation and you feel lost, give up, and are no longer a pro-active problem solver but have feelings of failure or helplessness. Thousands of students have succeeded with this material, and you can too. If you stumble, many resources exist for you to succeed. Use us: I am available, you can come to my lecture, you can visit our tutors, you can ask the lab staff for some help. Overcome the feeling of helplessness. But, you must learn to use the tools available to you to be successful.
