JavaScript Text, Chapter 11 (Creating Dynamic HTML (DHTML)), pgs 527 - 557
Reading:
- Publisher provided documents and images
- If you haven't already downloaded the student files from the publishers site, do so now.
- The publishers pages will start with an uppercases letter, so you should be able to distinguish your pages from
the publisher's pages. If you did not follow this recommendation, then be very careful when you copy the
aviationHome.htm, privatePilot.htm, and instrument.htm files and images from your assignment6
folder to your assignment9 folder. You need some way to distinguish your pages from the publisher's pages.
- The book does not mention how DHTML access to CSS interacts with the Mac. I will need comments from Mac
users on adjustments you need to make to get your pages to render.
- Sliding menus have a built in time delay. Be patient when you are checking your sliding menus.
Practice:
- Al's Aviation
- Complete the Al's Aviation on pages 530, 532-533, 535, 538, 541-542, 544-545, 549-550, and 555-556.
- When reading pages 547 and 548, the examples do not close the tr and table tags at the end of
each example. The first example shows "..."; the second example shows nothing at the bottom.
Case Project:
- No case project for this assignment.
Update your index page:
- Add links on your index page to the pages in your assignment9 folder that are to be graded:
- privatePilot.htm
- instrument.htm
- aviationHome.htm
Uploading:
- Upload your revised index.htm page to the public_html folder.
- Upload your assignment9 folder with the files:
- privatePilot.htm
- instrument.htm
- aviationHome.htm
- all images used in your pages
Testing uploaded pages
- Follow the checklist for grading shown on
the schedule page.
- Make any corrections for any page that does not validate or display correctly.
