Ren Kent's American Indian history course

- Description - This is an on-line supplement to the classroom
course in American Indian history (History 2613). Its focus is on
the history and culture of Native Americans from the first
European incursions to the present.
- Goal - The goal of this supplement is to provide students
with: (a) URLs for some important Web sites for Native American
history, culture, and current events, (b)e-mail access to the
instructor (renk@austin. cc.tx.us) and to each other to share
their findings, and (c) useful "listserv" locations to stimulate
discussions with other interested persons beyond A.C.C.
- Objectives - The basic objectives of this course are the
learning objectives listed on your class handouts. Click

each of the four units.
- Activities - Activities will include:
- student research on Web sites suggested in the Web page and
on other sites which students discover on their own.
- sharing of their findings with the class through oral and
written reports on topics approved by the instructor.
- posting information to the instructor and other students
through e-mail and through a class discussion page.
- keeping up with current issues and events in Native
American life through participation in the on-line "listserv"
news group listed in this Web page.
