Course Instructional Materials

The pages listed below contain the instructional materials for each course in the Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program at Austin Community College. You will also find links to important sites such as the Environment of Care (EOC) exam, hotmail, and instructor information. The Phlebotomy and Introduction to Clinical Laboratory Sciences courses are both certificate programs. Upon successful completion of each course the student is awarded a certificate. Upon successful completion of BOTH courses the student is then awarded a certificate as an Medical Laboratory Assistant. The student can then, upon advisement by the MLT program director, complete the coursework leading to an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology.

• Each student must complete the Environment of Care (EOC) test before the first clinical day. The results of the test are automatically mailed to the MLT faculty. Be sure to print out a copy of the results for your files.
• Each student must have an email account. If you do not have internet access at home you can use the computers which are available in the library of any Austin Community College campus. There are a variety of free email services available and Yahoo is a very popular service. It is easy to set up and can be accessed from ANY computer with internet access.
