Online Orientation
GOVT 2305-013 (45495) United States Government Online Orientation
Spring 2012
Kris S. Seago

You must complete an online orientation and submit an orientation form between Tuesday, January 17, and Friday, January 20, 2012. Completing the orientation process takes approximately an hour.

1. Activate (or verify) your ACCmail address.

ACC provides all students with an ACCmail address (taking the general form firstname.lastname@g.austincc.edu) for official communication. This is the only address I can use to send official communication. I’ll send notices and supplemental readings to your ACCmail address on a regular basis.

2. Log in to Blackboard. Log in instructions are available here.

ACC's Instructional Computing and Technology Services has published a Blackboard Support site with a brief Getting Started guide and answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

3. Access the Blackboard page for this class: 212S-45495-GOVT-2305-013: United States Government (45495).

This Blackboard page contains the course sylllabus, announcements, handouts, study guides, assignments, discussion board, and a grade book where I'll post your grades.

4. Read the syllabus (available under the Syllabus link in the left-hand navigation bar) carefully, noting course requirements, expectations, and policies regarding withdrawals, incomplete grades, scholastic dishonesty, and academic freedom.

5. Complete and submit the online orientation form.

6. You'll receive an automated email message at your ACCmail address acknowledging receipt of your online orientation form.

7. Send a reply to this automated message from your ACCmail address to demonstrate that you've activated your ACCmail address.

8. Congratulations! You have completed the online orientation process. If you have any questions, send me an email message to: kseago@austincc.edu.
