Michael Warren, adjunct associate professor of business law, authored the article "Handling Insurance Subrogation Cases in Texas," which appears in the December 2005 issue of the Texas Bar Journal.

Dance Department Chair Jose Bustamante and dance instructors Kathy Hamrick, Roxanne Gage, Allison Orr, and Darla Johnson coordinated the Dance Department Choreographers' Showcases held December 9-10 at the Rio Grande Campus.

John Herndon, adjunct professor of English and creative writing, hosted four successful student literary readings at Austin Java during the fall semester. The Dec. 12 finale drew 25 to 30 individuals and featured reader Peggy Kelly. Spring semester readings shift to the fourth Monday of each month, beginning Jan. 23.

Irene Doo, developmental math adjunct professor, will participate in the panel discussion "Electronic Homework Systems," a part of the joint meetings of the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America scheduled for Jan. 12-15 in San Antonio.

STUDENTS

ACC radiology graduates achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the national registration exam given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists between July 31 and Nov. 9, 2005.

Twenty-two cadets graduated from the ACC Fire Academy Dec. 10 in Taylor, following completion of their training. The cadets achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the Texas Fire Commission Licensing exam, with an average 83.30 -- well above the state average. On the same day, the Fire Protection Technology Department received 135 applications for the 35 cadet spots open for the next academy, planned in spring.

The ACC Big Swing Band, under the direction of Music Professor Tom Husak, performed for the Sickle Cell Association of Austin-Marc Thomas Chapter's "Holiday Appreciation Celebration" Dec. 2 at the Marriott Hotel.
