The Dell Foundation awarded $2,000 to support the ACC Math & Science Academy. The Gallaudet University Alumni Association will honor Human Services Professor Nathie Marbury with its Laurent Clerc Award for outstanding social contributions by a deaf person. She will receive her award during the university’s April 21 Charter Day luncheon.

History Professor Andres Tijerina, Ph.D., was featured in the Texas Historical Commission’s March/April 2007 newsletter for his work in researching and documenting the rich, but sometimes neglected, contributions of Tejanos to Texas. In Dr. Tijerina’s words, “It’s incumbent upon us … to knock down the blinders of the past so we can have a more promising vision of the future.”
