The Dental Hygiene Program Class of 2009 had a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the Dental Hygiene National Board Exam this spring and a 100 percent first-time pass rate on their clinical exam (Western Regional Board Exam).

The Cypress Creek Campus, ESOL Department, and Student Success Office were scheduled to assist up to 100 non-native English speakers May 30 at “Pathway to English” registration day. The event streamlines admissions, assessment, advising, financial aid assistance, and other processes to help individuals enroll at ACC. It will be repeated June 30 at the South Austin Campus.

Sociology Adjunct Professor Glynis Christine has been selected to participate in the National Endowment for the Humanities summer workshop: “Landmarks of American Democracy: From Freedom Summer to the Memphis Sanitation Workers' Strike.” Glynis will attend the first summer session, July 5-12, beginning at Jackson State University and concluding at the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Student Success Office is hosting two half-day workshops in June to assist bilingual frontline staff with ACC Spanish terminology for college information. The sessions will utilize the ACC English-Spanish glossary posted at austincc.edu/marketing/guidelines/translations.php.
