TESTS: There will be FOUR unit tests and an optional FINAL EXAM. Each test will be worth 100 points.

RE-TESTS AND MAKEUP TESTS: A missed test is a zero. You may make up or re-test one and only one of the unit tests if you miss a test or if your grade is below 70. However, your grade in a makeup or re-test cannot exceed 70. If you do not choose to take a make-up or retest, then you should take the comprehensive final exam to replace the lowest of your grades.

HOMEWORK: A list of homework problems from the book is provided to you on the first day of class. You are expected to work all the problems assigned, and keep them in a well organized, readable notebook for your own benefit. I do not have to preach to you the importance of completing your assignments. The homework for each unit will be collected on the day of the test for that unit. Homework assignments will be checked for completeness. Due to the nature of the course, I will give special assignments on material, which may not lend itself for testing.

COURSE GRADE: The overall grade will be computed as follows:

Average of 4 tests: 85%

Homework average: 15%

A: 90 - 100, B: 80 - 89, C: 70 - 79, D: 60 - 69, F: below 60.

W: I will not withdraw students from my class. If you wish a W, you must turn in a Withdrawal form to Admissions and Records before the April 22 deadline.

I: Very rarely an Incomplete is given: You must be passing the course, have taken all but the last test, and have a very serious reason for not completing the course on time.

ATTENDANCE AND BEHAVIOR: You are encouraged to attend all classes. There is a direct correlation between attendance and performance. Proper behavior is expected. Be prepared to attend each class from beginning to end. Coming to class late or leaving early disturbs the instructor and your classmates. Please do not leave the classroom in the middle of the class in order to take care of personal business. Turn off your beepers and wireless phones. Dishonesty will be severely punished.
