Course Information
BIOL 2401 Anatomy & Physiology I
Resources
If you are a student registered for this course, you should be able to access materials for this course on Blackboard about 1 week before the semester begins.
If you want to start getting ahead, here are some suggestions:
1. Buy all of the supplies you will need for the class. (Click on Textbooks & Supplies above.)
2. Read the sample syllabus I have posted above. It will be similar to the one I will pass out on the
first day of class.
3. Read pgs. 1-6 in your textbook. We will cover this material during our first lecture.
4. Read pgs. 22-36 in your textbook (basic information about cells, cell transport, and cell
organelles). This is review material that you should already know. I will assume that you know it because
you have passed the assessment test to get into this class and this material was covered on that test. If
you need help with these topics, visit this website: http://www.austincc.edu/biology/assessment and
practice the "Macromolecules" and "Cell Structure and Function" modules.
5. I will post materials for our course on Blackboard. ACC usually "releases" the course on Blackboard
to students about one week before class begins. Once that happens, play with the buttons on the left of
the Blackboard screen to get familiar with the materials I will have available throughout the semester.
You do NOT need to print out any of the handouts yet. I will take copies of all you need
on the first day of class. I will let you know then what you need to print out.
6. If this is the first time you take classes at our campus, come to the campus, so that you can explore our campus (locate our classroom and lab room, check out our library and cafe, find out where the various Student Services offices are located, etc.)
