MATH 1314 Information

Before you enroll in this course, you should decide whether a distance education course is right for you and ensure that you have met the prerequisite for the course.  Please read through the advising information found here.

I will use your ACCmail address for all email communication. If you use a different email address, be sure to set up your ACCmail to forward to the address you use. While I may reply to an email coming from a different address, I will initiate all contact through your ACCmail address. Never assume that I will contact you by an outside email address just because we may have used it for some communication.

Approximately one week before classes begin, my rosters will be uploaded into Blackboard. Once you are uploaded into the course, you will be able to access all course documents and information I have available. At that point, you will also begin receiving weekly emails from me with details on what needs to be completed each week. Be sure to check your email the week before class begins for instructions on getting started.

Before class begins, you should do the following:

1) Set up your ACC email account
2) Complete the Online Orientation Form found in Blackboard (repeat until you score 100%)
3) Register in MyMathLab using the link found in Blackboard. You can register with the free trial period if you are waiting on financial aid.  MML is a requirement for the class and NOT an option.
4) Complete the MML Introduction Assignment in MML (repeat until you score 100%)
5) Complete the Review in MML - You need to score a 70% or better in order to begin the course. You will have an unlimited number of attempts, but you must score 70%. Otherwise, you will be advised to move down to MATD 0390 - Intermediate Algebra.

If you have not completed the Orientation, Introduction and Review by the end of the first week of class, you may be dropped from the course.
