The Public Information & College Marketing Department (PICM) provides publications, marketing, media relations, web, and
word processing services to support the mission of the Austin Community College District. In general, our department:
- Coordinates, develops, writes, and produces major college publications (course schedules, catalog, brochures, etc.), marketing plans, sponsorships, promotions, and direct mail campaigns
- Manages all aspects of media relations, including press releases, feature articles and media advisories, media, interviews, and press conferences
- Creates, oversees, and purchases newspaper, magazine, web, TV, and radio advertisements
- Develops and coordinates the design and content of top levels of the ACC website
- Generates instructional manuals, presentations, and organizational charts
- Arranges speaking engagements and presentations
- Processes open records requests
ACC Newsroom
The ACC Newsroom is your source for what’s happening at ACC. There you’ll find news releases, ACC in the news and the
ACC eNewsletter, a monthly online newsletter for students, faculty, staff, and friends of Austin Community College.

We can help you raise awareness for your program and reach prospective students. Let us meet with you to develop a
marketing plan that best fits your needs.
Publications
The publications and word processing areas provide creative design and editorial services for more than 800 promotional and
informational pieces each year.
Word Processing
PICM offers limited word processing services for instructional materials, PowerPoint presentations, fl ow charts, and specialty
brochures and fliers. Many word processing services are available on campus in the Media Center. Check first to see if your
campus offers the service you need.
Web Development
PICM manages the design and content of the top levels of the ACC website and is part of the management team that oversees
its maintenance. We can provide support to those wishing to use the website template.

Displays for conferences and special events
All campus managers have a table top display, table drape, and banner for you to borrow. PICM has a large display unit and
a table top display that also can be borrowed.

Downloadable photographs, logos, and other documents are available for use in official ACC District publications and websites.
