Medical Software Applications and Medical Office Procedures are both required courses for the Associates of Applied Science– Medical Administrative Assistant Specialization degree programs. Medical Software (1302) takes the student through Medisoft– a computerized practice management program used throughout the industry. Medical Office (1309) introduces students to specialized aspects of managing a medical office from HIPAA guidelines through TMB regulations. Students enrolled in the Office Administration programs can expect to gain marketable skills useful in all types of physician offices and clinics. Students should be prepared to complete a fictional office project, research articles on assigned subjects and present an oral presentation on a current medical topic.
