Print out the instructions for the Portex Needle Pro and bring with you to class.


Review the video on the use of the BD Eclipse safety needle. Pay CLOSE attention to the location of the thumb to activate the device. If your thumb goes higher than recommended it may slip around and result in a needle stick injury.


IMPORTANT:

  • Do NOT remove your finger which is applying pressure to the venipuncture site UNTIL you have activated the safety needle.

  • Never take your eyes off of the needle until the safety device is activated.
