Bacterial
serial dilutions. Antibodies and antigens cannot be visualized,
since they are soluble. But by looking at the decreasing number of
organisms on the plate as the bacterial culture was diluted, one can
get a sense of what is happening in the test tube as a serum sample
is diluted.
