ONLINE CLASSES

This class is best suited for someone who has completed high school and has taken college level English Composition and History. In addition, I would urge you to take this class via this online format only if you can say yes to each item in the list below.

Take this class online only if you are self motivated and disciplined, not an auditory learner (since you won't be hearing me explain things), easily recall facts and ideas after reading them once, are eager to learn about topics not related to your major or that do not initially interest you, write well and are fully familiar with researching on the web.

In fact, to determine whether an online class is for you, take this learning style survey and look over these distance learning student resources.

If you decide to take this course online, you are required to complete an orientation. To do that, look to the right and click on the online orientation link for your class. Read everything there and read the information regarding the exams and forums and make note of the course requirements and deadlines. Finally, send me the information requested.

Special Note To High School Students: I would strongly encourage you not to take this class while a high school student unless you have a high school GPA of A/A-, along with excellent independent research and study skills. Otherwise, you may be setting yourself up for a poor grade given that this is a college level class and I expect you to come in knowing what you should have learned in a high school Govt course.
