Responses from the Open Communications Committee to questions submitted on April 12 and April 15, 2004:

I. April 12: Comment: Let's consider having some kind of "drop box" for instructor materials. Often classes end after most administration/registration people have gone home. The instructors either slide the packet of material under the door on the fourth floor (not very professional) or leave the packet with Security to be picked up later (not very convenient). A simple locked box somewhere outside registration could serve as a drop off point. Someone could open the box each morning and distribute the packets.
Response: This will be addressed to the coordinators. Jerry Haba will ask the coordinators for their suggestions and comments.
Update: April 27, 2004. Seven responses were received from the coordinators in favor of the drop box idea. There were no responses opposing the idea. The Leadership Team agreed that a drop box would be a more convenient way to receive completed instructor packets and plans are now being made to build a drop box that would look like the one outside the Employment Office on the 6th floor.
II. April 15: Question: Area/Space behind the wall - (The people located behind the wall are here for ACC elections) after the elections what is going to happen to that area/space?
Response: This comment will be shared with the CE Leadership Team at the next leadership meeting.
Update: April 27, 2004. The comment was shared with the Leadership Team, which responded that the space will be used for staff as needed for new grants, programs, and special projects.
