ACC provides students with email accounts. (Started in mid-September 2008.) Starting in January 2009, these ACC email accounts are the official way in which ACC communicates with students, which means that notices will no longer be sent by US mail. It is absolutely critical that you start checking this official email account of yours by the end of the first week of class.
Information about ACCmail You can check this from any computer through the web, and you can also set it up to be forwarded to another email account, if you wish.
For the purpose of getting started in this course, you can send in your Orientation Forms 1 and 2 using whatever email address is convenient for you. I am happy to know how to contact you in whatever way you want to provide. But, by the end of the first week of this course, you really need to be receiving your email that is sent to your ACC email address. On Orientation Form 3, due during the first week, please enter your ACC email address on the form. That will tell me that you have set it up and are receiving messages through it. If you don't enter your ACC email address on Orientation Form 3, send me a separate email message and tell me what difficulties you are having with this, so that I can help you.
Please note that one of the reasons for ACC providing these email accounts is to make sure that you have an account that only you will access, so private information can be sent in this way. Please keep this in mind if you forward the email to another account. You might not want everyone who can read your other email messages able to read your private email messages from ACC.
