RAINBOW HORIZONTAL LINE

Getting Started

Some students do better in regular classroom courses than in distance learning courses. We all want you to succeed. The first step is to enroll in a course that suits your learning style and for which you have current knowledge of the prerequisite material.

BEFORE you buy the book, go through the material on this page. (The bookstore will not allow you to return the book after you open the plastic wrapping. So if you have bought the book already, do not remove the plastic wrapping. When you do remove it, you must save the sticker attached to the wrapping to send to me as verification that you have paid for the license.)

Is distance learning right for you? Please take this survey and think carefully about the questions and your answers.

Complete the Pre-Test Review. If you can answer 42 of 61 questions correctly, you are probably ready to take Intermediate Algebra.

Read all of the information on this web site.

If you are still unsure, please contact me before you make a decision. Email (mparker@austincc.edu) is the best way to contact me.

If you are ready to enroll, then buy the book, unwrap it, and mail the sticker on the plastic wrapping to me. This proves that you have bought the license for the software.

Return to this web page and fill out the Orientation Form. You will be asked a few questions about the information you learned from this web site, and to provide me with contact information about you.

If I don't have your orientation form by June 5, 2002, you may be dropped from the course.
