Interactive Math Resources

Trigonometry and Precalculus

Dave's Trigonometry Page. These easy-to-use demos enable you to move a pointer around and see how the trig functions change. Easy to understand and illustrates the basic concepts of trig very nicely. Good for students in the first third of a trig course or students in lower level courses who want to see what trigonometry is about. If you're just starting trig graphing, start with "Too Many Numbers" or "Do the Wave".

Karl's Calculus Tutor. This is a great site to see where you're headed! While the site isn't particularly interactive, it feels "lively" and useful to me. Nice "mini-lectures" on various topics in the first half-semester or so of calculus read as if you're listening to an inspired teacher. He also has a great section on how to write math in e-mail. That's convenient for all of us to know. (It is pretty similar to inputting math into a graphing calculator or graphing software program, which we need to learn also!)

Math Archives -- Trigonometry section. If you browse through these and find anything that looks interesting, tell me about it. I'd like to know what students find useful.

Algebra

Interactive Algebra. Get help solving some algebraic equations and factoring some expressions.

WebMath. Solve all sorts of algebra problems and other math problems.
