Student 1:

The stats tutor (I finally found how to run it) is great! I feel I understand so much more when I do those, however in a lot of the tutor lessons there is an applet to click on to help better relate the problems only I can't ever get it to run. Is there something that I'm not doing right or something that I can do to get this information that I feel I'm missing out on?

Student 2:

I had trouble with that too and found that it was because there were so many updates of J2SE (Java) running on the computer, both my home and work ones.  I ran into the problem at work first, but I have an IT guy that sits right behind me so I asked him if he could look at it for me.  He checked it out and this is what he came up with.  You have to get rid of all your old J2SE updates through the Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs.  Once the window populates, you scroll down to the J2SE part of your list.  You will probably see more than one update here...that is likely the problem.  You want to delete the extra updates, leaving only the program and its latest update - Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE version # and J2SE Runtime Env. 5.0 Update 11 (or whatever update has the highest number).  If you have one that says Java (TM) 6 Update 2, you can leave that in and it won't hurt it.  I had 7 ot 8 updates too many and it bogged down the system.  Once I cleared all that extra junk out, it worked beautifully!  I did the same thing at home, so now I'm set.
