Chapter Summaries, Sample Tests, and Handouts
- Chapter Summaries
- Chapter 1 deals with an assortment of precalculus topics.
The focus is on integrating the verbal, graphical, numerical,
and analytical methods of investigating a topic as opposed to
just reviewing the analytical methods. You should have covered
the analytical methods needed here in at least one previous course.
If you haven't already studied almost all of these topics in Trignometry
and Precalculus, you should do that before taking a calculus coiurse.
- Chapter 2 Summary
- Chapter 3 Summary
- Chapters 4 and 5 deal with the algebraic rules for derivatives
and applications of derivatives. All is based on the ideas from
Chapter 2.
- Chapter 6 deals with some of the algebraic rules for integrals
and some applications of integrals. All is based on the ideas
from Chapter 3. Much of Calculus II extends this topic further.
Sample Tests. Problems on your test will cover material in a
similar manner to some of your homework. You need to study all
of your homework problems. These samples aren't comprehensive,
in any sense. But, by doing them after you finish your homework,
you can get an idea of whether you have studied the homework adequately.
Other handouts:

from Chapter 4, along with corresponding integral rules
