While individual instructors have some flexibility in designing their courses, each will conform to the departmental material indicated here. Each individual instructor will give the student a first-day handout that gives students information about all the topics on these departmental handouts and, in addition, information about the instructor's office number, office hours, grading scheme, and information about their policies on attendance, homework, withdrawals, and incompletes.
Some of the instructors make their individual course information available on the Web, indeed, some have supplemental material that may be of interest to all students, not just those in their sections. Lists of individual faculty members' Websites with information about the course are also given here.
Students are responsible for making sure that they have the prerequisites for a course before enrolling for it. Information about the prerequisites may be obtained from ACC's course catalog. In addition, most of these departmental handouts describe the prerequisite requirements. On the first day of class, the instructor will check the prerequisites and may withdraw students.
We have an extensive set of Prerequisite Review Sheets for our courses, most of which are available on the Web.
