MTH 1743 - College Algebra (Texas Common Course Number MATH 1314)

(Three credit hours, three lecture hours per week during a 16-week semester, no lab hours)

Catalog description: A course designed for students majoring in business, mathematics, science, engineering, or certain engineering-related technical fields. Content includes the rational, real, and complex number systems; the study of functions including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions and related equations; inequalities; and systems of linear equations and determinants. Prerequisites: Two years of high school algebra or DVM 1193 or the equivalent. Credit can be earned for either MTH 1743 or MTH 1633 but not both.
