Do you need a fast intense
review of high school math?
Do you really want to move into more challenging science or technology courses
quickly?
ACC offers two types of "fast" developmental math classes.
- In the Fall and Spring semesters, most developmental math classes are offered
in sessions that meet for only part of the semester. This allows you to take
two of the classes during one semester. In the summer session, some sections
of the developmental classes are offered in the short sessions, so that one
can complete two sequential courses in one summer. See the ACC
schedule for classes scheduled in the various short sessions. Bear in
mind that the material covered and the amount of homework is the same for
a course no matter how few weeks the course meets. Developmental math courses
in the short sessions require a very substantial time commitment.
- In the Fall and Spring semesters, we have a section of a combined Elementary-Intermediate
Algebra course, which meets about six hours per week for all 16 weeks, uses
one textbook for the entire semester, and covers the material of both courses.
To enroll for this, look for MATD 0290, Intermediate Algebra, in the schedule.
You will also need to register for the section of MATD 0370, Elementary Algebra,
which is attached to this. If you have questions about this, contact Nancy
Miller, nmiller@austincc.edu.
This course is generally offered at NRG in the fall and spring semesters and
is MWF 10:10 - 11:50 am. Allow as much time for homework as if you were taking
two separate courses in mathematics, since this one course covers the material
of two.
