Jan. 18 | January Junior Jumpstart (J3): ACC High School Programs hosted more than 200 Early College High School (ECHS) juniors at the inaugural College and Career Symposium at Eastview Campus. The event included sessions focused on the university transfer process, social media presence and its impact on college acceptance and future employment, completing financial aid applications, ACC career opportunities and resources, and more. Students toured health sciences labs and attended a college and career fair featuring employers such as Amazon and Austin Bergstrom International Airport, and universities such as Texas A&M and Colorado State. The event was capped off with a panel discussion that included ECHS graduates and faculty.

Jan. 22 | National Day of Racial Healing: Austin Community College (ACC) commemorated National Day of Racial Healing with a series of events encouraging the community to explore culture and equity through the arts. More than a dozen students, faculty, and community members shared poetry readings, dance and musical performances, and interactive art initiatives. Read more >

Jan. 30 | Community College Day: Austin Community College (ACC) students joined hundreds of their peers from across the state for Community College Day at the Texas Capitol to raise awareness of issues critical to community college students. Sponsored by the Texas Association of Community Colleges, Community College Day gives students a chance meet with legislators while learning about civic engagement. Read more >
