Students from Odense Tekniske Gymnasium give a presentation during their studies at ACC.

A group of 20 students trekked more than 5,000 miles across the Atlantic to study at Austin Community College this fall, while getting a first-hand take on Texas.

Students from Denmark’s Odense Tekniske Gymnasium spent four weeks at ACC studying Texas literature and history, political science, and game development through ACC’s customized training.

ACC extends Teacher Pipeline to aid schools

Austin Community College will continue to shore up the teacher pipeline.

This month the ACC Board of Trustees affirmed the college’s partnership in the “Teacher Pipeline Program” that increases the number of bilingual and special education teachers in Austin ISD.

ACC helps rebuild and clean local park

A record number of volunteers turned out to help rebuild and clean-up the Country Club Creek Trail at Krieg Field in Southeast Austin Saturday, November 8, during the seventh annual Project: Build a Park.

The project was hosted through a partnership between Austin Community College and the Austin Parks Foundation.

Watercooler: Inside scoop on campus events & news bits

View the “Keep Austin Beautiful” recycling video (3:04 min.) produced by the Students for Environmental Outreach.

The bin is in: Recycling helps take out trash. Environmentally minded students are organizing a new and improved recycling campaign across the ACC District. The group, Students for Environmental Outreach, has teamed with ACC Business Services to place 900 brand-new recycling bins around campus buildings. They’re also putting final touches on a recycling awareness campaign to launch next semester. Check Watercooler in January for details.
