Media Advisory: Constitution Day Art Winners

The ACC Arts & Humanities Division and Center for Public Policy and Political Studies to announce Constitution Day student art winners

Designs address “In this post 9-11 world, what is the state of the American Constitution?”


Who: Arts & Humanities Division and Center for Public Policy and Political Studies (CPPPS), student art contest winners.

 
When: Wednesday, Sept. 17, 6-8 p.m.
News conference at 6 p.m. Awards and presentations at 6:15 p.m. Reception follows until 8 p.m.

 
Where: Highland Business Center, 5930 Middle Fiskville Rd.

 
What: The projects were designed by students as part of Constitution Day activities co-sponsored by the ACC Center for Public Policy and Political Studies, the Arts and Humanities Division, and the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division. Student winners will be introduced at the news conference. At a later date, the first place winners will receive a cash award of $200, with second and third place awards of $100 and 50, respectively.

 
Background: Students were invited to confront the question “In this post 9-11 world, what is the state of the American Constitution?” During spring and summer semesters, students submitted works in four categories: poetry, essays, 3-D artwork, and 2-D artwork. Three panels of faculty and community volunteers judged the student work. Artwork can be viewed at the news conference and remain on display through Oct. 8.
