“ACC is committed to preparing students for the workforce, and this partnership gives us a new tool to link our students and graduates with local employers,” says Amber Kelley, dean of student services at Cypress Creek Campus. “It is a great benefit for both ACC as well as local business and industry.”
Campus2careers uses matching technology as well as face-to-face events to bring together qualified candidates and potential employers. Students can register for campus2careers through ACC’s career services webpage.
“We look forward to seeing more ACC students on our site and at our events. Since ACC offers such a wide range of courses, we will be able to fill even more jobs for our clients,” says Jay Whitchurch, CEO of campus2careers. “As the role of community college increases in our country, it becomes even more important that we help these students identify which new certificates and skills to pursue and then help them find career opportunities.”
Campus2careers invites ACC students to attend its InternInAustin fall internship fair. The event will include 125 local startups, small businesses, and nonprofits offering internships for the fall semester. The event is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 9, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Registration is limited; students should sign up on the InternInAustin webpage as soon as possible.
“Part of ACC’s completion agenda is to offer ‘earn-while-you-learn’ opportunities for students that will provide real life experience in the workplace and also provide an income,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “We look forward to a partnership with campus2careers which will help our students and also help the local area employers.”
