Experience the best of arts and humanities at Austin Community College’s 5th annual Carnival ah!, an outdoor celebration at ACC’s historic Rio Grande Campus in downtown Austin (1212 Rio Grande St.). This year’s event takes place April 3 and 4. Festivities are free and open to the public and will include live music, dance, drama, and performance art, as well as a student art sale, literary readings, philosophy and humanities discussions, open mic sessions, film screenings, food, and more.
Carnival ah! runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day. Many performances and participants will examine the question, “How did you get here?” – the 2013 Carnival ah! theme.
“Carnival ah! will give participants a better appreciation of ourselves, our history, and how the arts and humanities express and define personal as well as community identity,” says Lyman Grant, dean of arts and humanities.
