ACC and Austin B-cycle have partnered to offer special annual and semester pricing for students and faculty/staff, as well as provide two stations at Rio Grande Campus.
Austin B-cycle is a non-profit organization that works with the City of Austin to manage a network of 24-hour bicycle checkout stations in downtown Austin. The stations at Rio Grande Campus are located at Rio Grande and 12th streets, and West Avenue and 12th Street.
ACC students can get a 5-month membership for only $25 (down from the $50 regular price) by entering the code “ACCsemester” when they enroll at austin.bcycle.com. They can get a reduced annual membership for $60 ($80 regular price) by entering the code “ACCannual.” You must use your ACCmail address to receive the discounts. ACC faculty/staff can get the same discounts by entering the code “ACCstaffs” for a 5-month membership and “ACCstaff” for annual membership.
“This is an exciting new partnership for ACC,” says Andy Kim, ACC’s director of environmental stewardship. “The on-campus B-cycle stations help open up the rest of downtown for our students without adding to traffic congestion. They also connect students and staff with Capital Metro bus and rail service that might not run by campus.”
Developing environment-friendly transportation solutions is a major focus of ACC’s commitment to sustainable practices. Learn more about the college’s sustainability plan at austincc.edu/sustainability.
“Austin Community College is a vital part of downtown Austin, and we are thrilled to both add service at the Rio Grande Campus and give students and staff a great deal on membership,” says Elliott McFadden, executive director of Austin B-cycle. “With this partnership, B-cycle can grow to be another transportation choice for more people in our community.”
