Austin Community College will host an enrollment and resource fair at ACC Highland on Saturday, June 14, as the college prepares to open the new Highland Campus.
“Destination: ACC @ Highland” will give prospective students an opportunity to meet with ACC representatives and get assistance with enrollment steps, financial aid, support services, college and career planning, and more—for all ACC campus locations.
The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the west side of ACC Highland, formerly known as Highland Mall (use the main mall entrance; the event takes place in the former men’s Dillard’s space).
The fair is adjacent to Highland Campus, which will open this August on the northwest corner of ACC Highland. It will be among the college’s largest locations, with an initial capacity for 6,000 students.
During the enrollment and resource fair, students can get information on academic and career training programs available at different ACC locations. The following panel discussions and demonstrations also are planned.
“Developmental math is the biggest challenge for students across the country, and our new course is a game changer because it tailors instruction for students’ individual needs,” says Dr. Constance Elko, chair of the Math Department. “Students can save time and money because they could complete more than one course, or possibly the entire developmental mathematics curriculum, in a single semester. If you need more time, you won’t lose any of your progress at the end of a semester.”
