The Center for Community Based & Nonprofit Organizations (CCBNO) at Austin Community College is accepting applications for its nonprofit leadership and management program. Classes begin in September.
The Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management program develops and certifies individuals as skilled leaders for the nonprofit sector. Upon completion of the program, participants receive a certificate in nonprofit leadership and management as well as continuing education credits.
“Our program aims to foster confident, reflective, ethical leaders with a strong commitment to the nonprofit sector,” says Barry Silverberg, CCBNO director. “The growth our students experience through the leadership and management program benefits their organizations and significantly impacts the Central Texas communities they serve.”
Participants learn technical and analytical skills for effectively leading and managing nonprofit organizations. Topics include effective communication, human resources management, strategic thinking and planning, volunteer engagement, resource development, and more.
More than 200 individuals have earned the CCBNO’s nonprofit leadership and management certificate.
“The program helped me transition from a recent college graduate with little career experience to a confident professional ready to take on the next challenge,” says Meghan Ziler, public outreach associate for The Fund for Public Schools. “Rotating guest speakers and class projects made the program engaging and gave me hands-on skills I use daily.”
The program is a 9-month course of study, with classes held one Friday and Saturday a month at Cypress Creek Campus (1555 Cypress Creek Rd. in Cedar Park). Tuition is $2,475, and installment plans are available. To apply for the program or get more information, visit the CCBNO website or call (512) 223.7051.
Since its founding in 2000, the CCBNO has served more than 10,000 individuals from over 3,500 organizations.
