ACC Names New Associate Vice President of Workforce Education

Austin--Dr. Elva Allie, executive vice-president of instructional affairs, announced today that Dr. Thomas Alan Rasco, Ed.D. has accepted the position of associate vice president of workforce education at the College.

Dr. Rasco received his doctorate in educational administration from Baylor University, and holds master's and bachelor's degrees from the University of Houston. He also holds associate of applied science degrees in respiratory therapy and nursing from Odessa College.

For the past three years, Dr. Rasco has served as a program director at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. He was dean of occupational and continuing education at Kilgore College from 1995-97. Prior to that time, Dr. Rasco spent eight years at Tyler Junior College, serving as director of respiratory therapy technology programs, associate dean of science and mathematics, dean of health sciences, and instructional dean. He was also director of respiratory therapy technology at Victoria College from 1978-1981.

He has more than 14 years of experience as a full-time and part-time faculty member at Tyler Junior College, Kilgore College, Victoria College and Odessa College.

Dr. Rasco held several administrative positions in the respiratory and nursing professions in medical facilities in Odessa, Victoria, and Port Lavaca prior to his community college career.
