From metal works to sculpture, ceramics and paintings, Austin Community College full-time and adjunct faculty create it all. Four full-time faculty and 65 adjuncts have the opportunity to show their students and the public their labors of love in the annual ACC Faculty Art Show. Its usually quite a full exhibit, said Nancy Keller, an ACC adjunct art teacher for 13 years.
Keller, who has a Master of Fine Arts in studio art from the University of Texas, teaches watercolor, painting 1 & 2 and drawing 1 & 2. Keller will be displaying a watercolor and a photograph in the show. I love the Greek aesthetics and I love taking classic figures and putting them in a Southwest aesthetic, the Corpus Christi native said.
Most ACC students in the associate of arts degree program transfer to four-year colleges, ACC art program coordinator Steve Kramer said. Kramer teaches ceramics classes at the Rio Grande Campus and Laguna Gloria, one of ACCs community partners.
This exhibit gives the students and the community the opportunity to see what the faculty have created and may inspire their students, said Kramer.
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
