ACC Board Leaves Vacant Seat Unfilled
The Austin Community College Board of Trustees chose to leave open the seat vacated by Beverly Watts Davis in September. Monday night the board interviewed candidates for the position.
Three candidates received votes from each board member, but none received a five-vote majority needed to win the appointment. The board opted to end the deadlock by leaving the seat vacant.
The candidates were encouraged to consider running for the three board seats up for re-election in May 2004.
Seven candidates were present Monday evening for public interviews by the Trustees. Ten candidates total applied. Each candidate was asked to submit a letter of intent, resume, supporting documents and respond to six questions posed by the board.
