The Austin Community College District is urging all students, faculty, and staff to take a few minutes to participate in a brief survey regarding their commuting patterns to ACC.

College monitors H1N1 influenza developments

See Frequently Asked Questions | English | Spanish

The health and well being of our students, faculty, and staff are first and foremost. We recognize that there has been substantial media attention directed at the North American H1N1 influenza (also known as swine flu) in Texas and want to take this opportunity to update you on the Austin Community College District (ACC) response to the present situation.

ACC is part of the regional health and emergency management team that is closely monitoring the H1N1 flu outbreak in Texas (the latest reports can be found at the Texas Department of State Health Services). There have been no reported cases of H1N1 flu at ACC. The college continues to observe normal operating hours.

To help keep you informed and up-to-date, ACC has launched an emergency information webpage in English and Spanish . We will continue to monitor the situation and provide important updates.

Meantime, ACC reminds you to practice the three C's to help stop the spread of flu:

CLEAN: Wash your hands often. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand cleaner.
COVER: Cover your cough. Use a tissue to cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Don't have a tissue? The crook of your elbow will do.
CONTAIN: Contain germs by steering clear of others who are sick. If you do get sick, stay at home until you're well again, so you don't spread more germs.
