Nancy C. Miller's Biography
Nancy has taught at Austin
Community College
for about 28
years, 13 years as a part-time instructor. She has also taught at Southwestern
University, Georgetown, Texas; Chisholm Trail Middle School, Round Rock, Texas;
Johnson County Community College, Overland Park, Kansas; and Longview Community
College, Lee's Summit, Missouri.
She is a member of NCTM, and TJCTA.
She has made presentations at the NCTM 1998 annual meeting, AMATYC 1999
&1996 annual meetings, CASP 1996 annual meeting, the Developmental
Mathematics Mini-conference at Bowie, Maryland,
1996 and other conferences.
She is the author of the article "Women in Consortium Calculus" Mathematics
Teacher 88(October 1995):546-549.
Nancy is involved in the student
organization Campus Crusade for Christ at Austin
Community College.
Nancy was very excited to
receive the ACC Teaching Excellence Award for 1997.
Nancy was glad to serve the
Mathematics Department at ACC as Chairperson for the 2005-2006 year.

Her dissertation topic was Perceptions of Motivation in Developmental
Mathematics Students: I Would Rather Drill My Own Teeth.
Nancy and her husband, John
lived in Austin for 25 years.
They enjoy snow skiing, hiking, snorkeling, and family activities. Last summer
(2009) they hiked in the Rocky Mountain National Park for 4 days. They have
two children. Nancy and John now live in Boerne, Texas,
where Nancy is available to her hill country distance learning students
when she is not at the Pinnacle Austin ACC Campus. They are members of First
Baptist Church, Boerne.
