There is nothing else available in Texas like our 10 month, 19 full-day, 133 contact hours long, comprehensive immersion into the key competencies required to be an effective leader and manager within the nonprofit sector.

NLMI has far exceeded my expectations, and I’m proud and honored to be part of the program.”  - just one of the unsolicited comments from one of the 38 current participants in the Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership & Management program.

Go to http://www.tano.org/en/cms/?473 for the class schedule and Application Form.  Recruitment for the 2008 Class is underway.  Certificate acceptances will be done on a rolling basis so once class is filled applications will no longer be accepted.

The Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership & Management is NOT FOR EVERY ONE, but it is for YOU if you are SERIOUS about being the VERY BEST nonprofit professional you can be, and if you are interested in being able to learn and network with others sharing your PASSION and COMMITMENT.

Many nonprofit practitioners and volunteer leaders come to their work through passion more than by way of an education that has taught them how to lead and manage effectively in order to manifest that passion. The sharing and transferring of competencies (i.e., knowledge, skills and experience) which form the backbone of "the Certificate Experience" will lead to and support changes in attitude, perception and behavior. This comprehensive professional development will build personal effectiveness and strengthen the organizations served by our graduates.

It is a comprehensive course of study entailing 19 full day sessions, over a 10 month period - from August 2007 to May 2008 - during which passionate expert practitioners offer participants opportunities to acquire the knowledge, skills, and relationships necessary to lead and manage small and mid-size nonprofit corporations.

The Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership & Management is co-sponsored by the Center for Community-Based & Nonprofit Organizations at Austin Community College and the Texas Association of Nonprofit Organizations (TANO). If you would like to discuss participation in the program, e-mail Barry Silverberg at bsilverb@austincc.edu
